WHY

As with all of The Fallen Rider Support Teams events we are hosting this year all are to help bring awareness and raise funds for charities which are in lack of funding and research, and some are very close to home, as this one is.

Our Team

Leona, our Event Manager’s Sister In Law, Jennifer Davies of Oakwood, Ontario was diagnosed late last summer with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer and under the age of 50.

Symptoms are almost unrecognizable and thinking she was pretty young and healthy ended up in a emergency room and they discovered that she had Ovarian Cancer and that it had spread, was incurable and that she had a short life span left. Chemo was suggested and there was a minimal chance of this working and was told it will always most likely come back. Every case is different.

Instead of dwelling on her issues at hand Jen fought and still fighting to educate others to its lack of funding and research of LGS, so it was Leona’s goal to fight along with her Sister In Law and raise money for the research of this form Cancer.

What is LGS

Low-grade serous (LGS) ovarian cancer is a rarer subtype that disproportionately affects younger women. With current treatments over 85% of women will have their cancer come back.

Out of all types of Ovarian Cancer Research LGS is the least researched and it is with Jens Fight we would like to change this as all monies raised will go directly to the research of LGS.

For more information on this type of cancer and the research centre where all donations are being sent visit
